2022 Ford Escape Overview
The 2022 Ford Escape is a compact SUV that slots between the smaller Ford EcoSport and larger models like the Ford Edge and Ford Explorer. Customers of the Sedona Ford dealer report they like the Escape’s pleasant styling, comfortable seats, smooth ride, and excellent fuel economy. There’s lots of room to transport passengers and cargo. Escape drivers also appreciate this model’s long list of standard driver assistance features.
According to the Sedona Ford dealership, the 2022 Escape seats five passengers and is offered in four trim levels, listed as S, SE, SEL and Titanium. All trims except the Titanium are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that generates 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque, teamed to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.
The Escape Titanium is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, connected to the eight-speed automatic. This unit is available on the SEL trim and gets standard all-wheel drive.
All models except the S are available as a hybrid with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. This powertrain produces a total of 200 hp. Power is sent to the front wheels via an automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and the Titanium Hybrid gets available all-wheel drive. There’s also a plug-in hybrid Escape variant, which we’re not covering in this review.
EPA-estimated fuel economy for the base 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine is rated at 28 mpg city/34 mpg highway for front-wheel-drive models and 26 mpg city/31 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.* The 2.0-liter turbo-four returns 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway. The hybrid powertrain checks in with 44 mpg city/37 mpg highway for front-wheel-drive models and 43 mpg city/37 mpg highway when equipped with all-wheel drive.
CNET praised the 2022 Ford Escape, writing: “Inside, the Escape is spacious. Front seat room is generous, and the back seats can slide fore and aft, better accommodating taller passengers. The cabin’s layout is intuitive, with large, clearly marked climate controls. Everything is built from nice materials -- the Escape’s cabin feels as good as any other compact crossover. … [With] its well-built cabin, strong tech game and excellent ride comfort, the Escape makes a strong argument for being a top contender in this class.”
Standard features for the base S trim include 17-inch steel wheels, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, an audio system with six speakers, a 4.2-inch central display screen, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Standard driver assistance features include forward collision mitigation, a blind-spot monitor, and lane departure mitigation.
The 2022 Ford Escape is very safe. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the Escape a Top Safety Pick. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2022 Escape its highest rating of five stars for overall safety.

2022 Ford F-150 Maintenance Schedule
Caring for your 2023 Ford F-150 properly can significantly impact its performance. By staying on top of routine maintenance, you can help ensure that your F-150 continues to run smoothly for as long as you own it. If you’re unsure which services your truck needs or when to bring it to the Flagstaff Ford dealer, you’ll find Ford’s suggested maintenance schedule in your F-150’s owner manual. Follow the maintenance schedule for your pickup to keep it in top shape.
The maintenance schedule for your Ford F-150 was designed by Ford to meet your vehicle’s unique needs. The schedule may vary depending on factors such as driving conditions and climate. Recommended maintenance visits include services like oil changes, fluid and filter replacements, new brake pads, and tire rotations.
Following the maintenance schedule will help keep your F-150 running smoothly and prevent common problems. According to the Flagstaff Ford dealership, regular service appointments can also reduce your risk of a breakdown while driving and improve the overall performance of your vehicle.
10,000 Miles
During the first maintenance visit, our certified service technicians will perform several services, including a comprehensive multi-point inspection. They’ll also inspect the truck’s braking system, exhaust system, cooling system, and half-shaft boots.
The technicians will also check your F-150’s steering linkage, joints, and wheels to make sure they’re functioning properly. In addition, they’ll change the oil and oil filter, rotate the tires, check and adjust the tire pressure, lubricate the axles and joints, and check the transmission fluid.
These services, which are repeated during every service visit, allow the technicians to keep your F-150 running optimally and help prevent common problems.
20,000 Miles
In addition to the services of the 10,000-mile visit, once your 2023 Ford F-150 reaches 20,000 miles, the service technicians will replace the cabin air filter. This service will be repeated every 20,000 miles.
30,000 Miles
When your Ford F-150’s odometer reaches 30,000 miles, it will be time to replace the engine air filter. Regularly replacing the engine air filter can help ensure that your vehicle’s engine is receiving a fresh supply of air and continues running smoothly.
100,000 Miles
At the 100,000-mile mark, it’s important to inspect the accessory drive belt. Although it’s unlikely that the belt will need to be replaced at this point, this inspection will help identify any potential issues and allow you to address them before they become more serious. In addition to the belt inspection, the service technician may replace the spark plugs and change the coolant.
150,000 Miles
If your Ford F-150 has reached 150,000 miles, you’ve been doing a great job taking care of it. With proper maintenance, a Ford F-150 can continue to run smoothly and safely for many miles beyond this milestone. During this visit, your truck’s accessory drive belt will be replaced. The service technician will also change the automatic transmission fluid and filters and the rear axle lubricant.
Call the Winslow Ford Service Center at 928-237-9767 to schedule your maintenance appointment or if you have any questions about your 2022 Ford F-150’s maintenance.
