2022 Ford Edge Overview

The 2022 Ford Edge is a midsize SUV that seats five passengers in two rows. Among the updates for 2022 is standard all-wheel drive. There's a new Black Appearance package for the base SE trim that features 19-inch black wheels and several black exterior accents. The SEL trim has a new available Adventure package, which adds 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, simulated leather seating, and gray and black exterior accents. The infotainment system now features a 12-inch touchscreen. According to the Sedona Ford dealership, there are also some new dealer-installed accessories, such as a center console-mounted safe. Two new paint colors join the lineup: Flight Blue and Forged Green.

The 2022 Ford Edge is offered in five trim levels: SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium and ST. All models except the ST are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The performance-oriented ST employs a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that's good for 335 hp and 380 lb-ft, mated to a seven-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is standard across the board.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the base 2.0-liter turbo-four engine is rated at 21 mpg city/25 mpg highway.* The turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 returns 19 mpg city/25 mpg highway.

The 2022 Ford Edge SE trim comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker audio system. The standard Ford Co-Pilot 360 system includes forward collision mitigation, automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system, a rearview camera, and automatic high beams.

At the top of the lineup, the Edge ST trim includes 20-inch black painted wheels, a sport suspension, black and body-colored exterior trim, leather and faux-suede-upholstery, front sport seats with silver stitching, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo system with 12 speakers.

The 2022 Ford Edge was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, with the highest score of Good for all crash tests. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2022 Edge its best overall safety rating of five stars.
