2023 Ford Escape Overview

According to the Show Low area Ford dealer, the Ford Escape gets a stylish makeover for 2023, featuring a wider grille with the brand's signature logo, a restyled hood and front bumper, and a variety of new wheel designs. Last year's trim levels have been replaced by a new lineup, with the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model now offered as a separate trim. The infotainment system has been upgraded to the new Sync 4, which offers over-the-air updates and a larger available 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen. All models are equipped with an 8.0-inch digital gauge display, with an available upgrade to a 12.3-inch display on some trims. The ST-Line now has sportier styling.

The 2023 Ford Escape is available in seven trim levels: Base, Active, PHEV, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum. Four powertrains are on offer, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. The Base, Active, and ST-Line trims are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque, teamed to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.

The ST-Line Select and higher trims are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 250 hp and 280 lb-ft, also mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard.

The ST-Line and higher trims are also offered as hybrid models, utilizing a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system that generates a total of 200 hp and 155 lb-ft, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The ST-Line and Platinum trims get standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive. The ST-Line Select and ST-Line Elite trims get standard all-wheel drive.

The Escape PHEV trim features a plug-in hybrid engine that combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total output of 210 horsepower, mated to the CVT. The PHEV is front-wheel drive only and has an all-electric range of 37 miles. The battery can be recharged in 3.5 hours using a Level 2 charger. Charging the PHEV with a 110-volt household outlet household takes about three times longer.

The 2023 Ford Escape boasts a stylish and spacious cabin. The ST-Line and Platinum trims provide an even more premium experience. The standard textured cloth seat upholstery creates a welcoming environment, while the Platinum model is fitted with standard synthetic leather upholstery. The Escape's spacious cargo area can carry whatever you want to take along for the ride.

An 8.0-inch infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. In addition to the available infotainment features mentioned earlier, other options include a head-up display, a Bang & Olufsen stereo system with 10 speakers, and an integrated navigation system.
