2023 Ford Escape Trim Levels
Ford revised the entire Escape trim level lineup as part of the model’s 2023 overhaul. The 2023 Ford Escape is offered in seven trim levels: Base, Active, PHEV, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum. Buyers at dealerships like the Show Low area Ford dealer have four powertrains to choose from, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.
The Base, Active, and ST-Line trims are outfitted with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that puts out 180 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission ensures a smooth driving experience. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.
The Escape ST-Line Select and higher trims employ a powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 250 horses and 280 lb-ft of torque. This engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and gets standard all-wheel drive.
The Escape ST-Line and higher trims are available with a hybrid powertrain that features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup that develops 200 hp and 155 lb-ft. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) sends power to the wheels. The ST-Line and Platinum trims come with front-wheel drive. Buyers can choose the available all-wheel-drive system, which is standard on the ST-Line Select and ST-Line Elite models.
The Ford Escape PHEV utilizes a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce 210 hp. This system sends power to the front wheels via a CVT. All-electric driving range is rated at 37 miles. With a Level 2 charger, the battery can be recharged in 3.5 hours. Using a 110-volt household outlet takes 10-11 hours.
2023 Ford Escape Base
The Escape Base trim comes with 17-inch steel wheels, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, cloth upholstery, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, an audio system with six speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assistance, blind-spot warning with rear-cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams.
2023 Ford Escape Active
The Escape Active trim starts with the features of the Base. It adds 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, dark tinted rear windows, keyless ignition and entry, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, satellite radio, and two rear USB ports.

The Escape PHEV trim gets the features of the Active and adds 18-inch wheels, vinyl and cloth seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a navigation system, a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assistance, and rear parking sensors.

2023 Ford Escape ST-Line Elite
