The 2024 Ford Mustang is offered in six trim levels: EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium, Dark Horse, and Dark Horse Premium. Buyers can choose between fastback (coupe) and convertible body styles. Rear-wheel drive is standard across the lineup.

The 2024 Mustang EcoBoost trims are powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, pushing out 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. The GT and Dark Horse trims are motivated by a robust, naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. In the GT, this engine churns out 480 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The optional active exhaust system gives it a slight boost, delivering 486 hp and 418 lb-ft. Living up to its name, the Dark Horse generates 500 hp and 418 lb-ft from its V8. Every V8 Mustang gets a standard six-speed manual transmission with a rev-matching feature on downshifts and an available 10-speed automatic gearbox.

The Mustang’s interior has been revamped with updated screens and a redesigned dashboard that enhances its modern appeal. A prominent 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster sits next to a 13.2-inch touchscreen, which has been repositioned higher than before. While the traditional volume knob remains, the climate functions have migrated to the touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, and an available wireless smartphone charging system provides a tidy solution to cable management. The inclusion of Amazon Alexa and Ford Streaming ensures voice-operated functionality, minimizing the need for traditional controls. Every Mustang is equipped with Ford Power-Up, facilitating over-the-air software and vehicle function updates.
