The 2024 Ford Expedition garners outstanding reviews from the automotive media. Edmunds writes :

The 2024 Ford Expedition offers versatile seating configurations across its two wheelbase options, catering to varying passenger needs. While the base model with a shorter wheelbase accommodates five passengers, both the standard Expedition and the extended Expedition Max provide the flexibility to seat seven or eight occupants. Six trim levels are on offer: XL, XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum, each available with either rear- or four-wheel drive.

Powering the Expedition is a potent twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that’s good for 380 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. In the Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trims, this unit develops 400 hp and 480 lb-ft. Those who want the most power can choose the Timberline or Limited models with the Stealth Performance package. This setup generates 440 hp and 510 lb-ft. This engine is connected to a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission. Car and Driver tested the Timberline trim and clocked a zero-to-60-mph time of 5.1 seconds, while the Stealth Performance model beat that figure by .02 seconds.

Except for the Timberline, rear-wheel-drive models get an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 17 mpg city/23 mpg highway.* With four-wheel drive, those figures dip slightly to 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway.

The standard Expedition offers 19.3 to 20.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 57.5 to 63.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and a total of 104.6 cubic feet with both rear rows folded down. The extended-wheelbase Expedition Max provides 34.3 to 36 cubic feet behind the third row, 73.3 to 79.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and 121.5 cubes with both rear rows folded. A manual liftgate comes standard, and a power liftgate is optional.
