2024 Ford Explorer Trim Levels

The Base, XLT, ST-Line, Timberline, and Limited are equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Standard features for the Base trim include LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 35/30/35-split folding second-row bench seat, 50/50-split folding third-row seats, cloth upholstery, a power liftgate, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Other features that come standard include an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an audio system with six speakers, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, FordPass Connect services, and two USB ports.
The Base trim also comes with safety features such as lane keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, a pre-collision warning and braking system, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

The XLT starts with the features of the Base trim and adds upgraded interior trim, keyless entry and push-button start, heated front seats, a power-adjustable front-row passenger seat, captain’s chairs in the second row, heated exterior mirrors, roof rails, and USB ports in the second row.

The ST-Line trim builds on the features of the XLT. It adds 20-inch machined alloy wheels, a black grille, dark-tinted headlights and taillights, black exterior trim, power-folding exterior mirrors, ambient interior lighting, simulated leather and suede upholstery, rain-sensing wipers, a surround-view camera system, a navigation system, and wireless smartphone charging. The standard 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system provides crystal-clear sound that will please audiophiles.

The off-road-focused Timberline trim gets the safety features of the XLT and ST trims. Other standard features include all-wheel drive, 18-inch black alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, off-road suspension tuning with increased ground clearance, a limited-slip rear differential, unique front styling, front tow hooks, underbody skid plates, heated second-row seats, simulated leather upholstery with cloth inserts, and trailer towing equipment.

The Limited starts with the XLT’s feature set, along with the ST-Line’s infotainment system, audio system, and safety gear. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, additional chrome exterior trim, leather seats, ventilated front seats, heated and power-folding seats in the second row, ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel, power-folding exterior mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, second-row sunshades, and front parking sensors.

The ST, King Ranch, and Platinum trims are powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine generating 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The performance-focused ST trim gets paddle shifters, quad exhaust outlets, sport front seats with bolstering, leather upholstery with simulated suede inserts, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and trailer towing equipment.

The Western-themed King Ranch trim builds on the features of the Limited, with exterior approach lighting, wood interior trim, leather-wrapped interior panels, exclusive leather upholstery, a power-adjustable tilt/telescoping steering wheel, memory for the driver’s seat, captain’s chairs with power-release for the second row, a power-folding seat for the third row, and heated power-folding exterior mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The King Ranch also comes with a hands-free liftgate, a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel, and rear automatic braking.

The range-topping Platinum trim brings even more luxury to the Explorer. It starts with the equipment of the King Ranch and adds 21-inch polished alloy wheels, a satin aluminum grille and exterior touches, adaptive headlights, diamond-pattern leather upholstery, and unique wood interior trim.
