2025 Ford Explorer Overview

For 2025, the Ford Explorer receives an update that enhances its design, technology, and overall driving experience. The exterior has been refreshed with a new front fascia featuring a redesigned grille, headlights, and lower air inlets, giving the SUV a more assertive look. At the rear, new taillights add to the vehicle’s updated appearance. Buyers of the Platinum, ST, and ST-Line trims can now opt for a stylish, black-painted roof and, for the first time, Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving technology. The introduction of the Ford Digital Experience marks another significant change.

The automotive media gives the 2025 Ford Explorer high marks. The 2025 Ford Explorer offers seating for six or seven passengers in three rows, depending on the configuration. It’s available in four trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST, and Platinum. The Active, ST-Line, and Platinum are powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The ST is equipped with a more powerful 3.0-liter V6 engine generating 400 hp and 415 lb-ft. This powerplant is available on the Platinum trim. All engines utilize a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.

The Explorer’s infotainment system features a 13.2-inch LCD touchscreen. The new Ford Digital Experience software allows drivers to easily access apps and services from Google and Amazon, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While the vehicle is parked, the system supports internet browsing, video streaming, and gaming via Google Play. The Explorer is well-equipped with three 12-volt power outlets and eight USB ports, including two in the third row. Most trims also come with a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
